When you’ve lived the lifestyle Charlie Sheen was synonymous with, it’s hardly surprising that the effects begin to take a toll as the years pass.

New, worrying reports detail how the Two and a Half Men star has confided in friends that he is suffering from a number of health problems, including memory loss and mood swings.

According to Radar Online, Sheen, who lives with HIV, also confided that the side effects of the drug needed to keep the illness in check make completing even simple tasks difficult.

The star is reported to have said that the medications: “kept me suppressed and alive, but I struggled with a constant migraine and, at times, borderline dementia.”

Now 57, Sheen’s infamously wild past has become the stuff of legend.

Having fallen from grace amid a number of scandals, the actor has attempted to clean up his act over the course of the past few years. According to a doctor who spoke to Radar Online, however, his change of attitude may be too little, too late.

“The symptoms of dementia may not be an outgrowth of his medications alone,” Dr. Stuart Fischer said. “You cannot discount the years of drugs and alcohol abuse along with dangerous sexual promiscuity.”

The doctor continued: “He has caused untold damage to himself. Hopefully, his brain function can be restored, but after a lifetime of self-destructive behavior, it may be too late to head off possible long-term effects.”

As per Radar Online, other sources have suggested that Sheen is determined to make right the damage he has done to others with his behavior in the past.

“Charlie knows he’s not the only person he’s damaged and he’s desperately hoping his medical care and lifestyle changes will give him time to work his way back into their hearts,” an insider reportedly said.

Of course, that may well be easier said that done given Sheen’s long and controversial track record.

The actor was forced out of Two and a Half Men while arguably at the height of his fame during the show’s eighth season due to his struggles with alcohol.

Things then took an even bleaker turn when he was ostracized from Hollywood after admitting to having had unprotected sex even though he knew he was HIV-positive. The actor was also admitted to rehab for crack cocaine abuse.

More recently, Sheen has made headlines over his reported fury at his daughter Sami’s OnlyFans content, blaming his ex-partner Denise Richards.

We hope Charlie Sheen can make a full recovery. If you feel the same way, share this article on social media to show your support.
