Bride has explicit three-word response after seeing her groom at the altar for the very first time
A recent episode of Married at First Sight UK has left fans cringing after a groom’s bold attempt at humor didn’t quite land during one of the most significant moments of the couple’s new life together.
The hit reality show, which brings strangers together to marry at first sight, has seen its fair share of drama, but Kieran Chapman, a 28-year-old mechanic, took things to an awkward new level when he decided to prank his bride, Kristina Goodsell, at the altar.
The Cringe-Inducing Moment
As Kristina, 30, walked down the aisle to meet her future husband for the very first time, Kieran greeted her with an unexpected twist: a set of grotesque, false rotting teeth. Adding to the shock, he spoke in a garbled voice, asking her, “Are you alright, are you OK? What’s your name?”
Initially smiling as she approached, Kristina’s expression quickly turned to disbelief, and her blunt reaction, captured in a voiceover, was simply: “What the f**k?”
Explaining his reasoning, Kieran admitted: “I think the teeth could make us look a little bit immature. I’m a little bit nervous to see how it goes. This could really end up bad. I just want to know if this girl’s fun.”

Divided Reactions
The prank has sparked a heated debate among fans of the show. While some viewers appreciated Kieran’s attempt to inject humor into the nerve-wracking moment, many criticized the stunt as immature and inappropriate for such a meaningful occasion.
One viewer wrote: “Being able to take a joke is very different from putting up with immaturity. I think that’s hilarious but definitely isn’t appropriate under those circumstances.”
Another commenter was less forgiving: “The fact he would do that is an instant ick.”
Others drew comparisons to their own experiences, with one person adding: “No thanks! Reminds me of something my ex would do, and that’s why he’s my ex! Constantly pssing around and loving being the center of attention.”*
Clashing Expectations?
While Kieran may have intended to break the ice with a lighthearted prank, many fans believe the move could signal deeper compatibility issues between the pair.
The moment has been labeled “cheap behavior” by some, with others questioning if Kieran’s playful sense of humor will align with Kristina’s expectations for a partner.
“A prank like this is fine for a casual moment, but during your wedding ceremony? No, thanks,” one viewer remarked.
Others, however, defended Kieran’s intentions, suggesting that his nerves may have gotten the better of him. “It’s a big moment; maybe he was just trying to make it less intimidating,” a fan argued.

The Debate Over Wedding Pranks
The incident has reignited discussions about what’s appropriate during such a significant event. While humor can help ease tension, most agree that pranks—especially ones that could embarrass a partner—might not be the best way to start a marriage.
Whether the stunt will impact Kieran and Kristina’s future together remains to be seen, but it’s clear that first impressions, especially when they involve fake teeth, can be hard to shake.
So, would you dare to pull a prank on your partner during your wedding day, or do you think some moments are too sacred for jokes?
