Clint Eastwood hasn’t been seen in 450 days – friends worried his health “has taken a turn”
Clint Eastwood has seen and done it all during the course of his illustrious career. Indeed, there are few accolades the legendary actor and director hasn’t laid claim to over the years; his legacy as a titan of cinema was cemented decades ago.
Yet, as they say, Father Time comes for us all, and these days Eastwood, now 92 years old (when did that happen?!) is naturally seen less and less out and about on red carpets and at high-profile events.
He continues to work – we recently reported that he’s putting together what might be his final film as a director, Juror #2 – but it makes sense to assume his days as an active member of the entertainment industry could be drawing to a close.
Now, whilst there haven’t been any concerning reports as to his health, Radar Online insist that his close friends fear that his health is beginning to decline…
According to sources, the iconic Hollywood star is considering retiring from the director’s chair after his next flick, a courtroom thriller titled Juror #2.
Discussing Film say that sources close to the actor have shed some light on Eastwood’s plans for the future, claiming that his next project will likely be the final one of his long and illustrious career.
Juror #2 will mark Eastwood’s 40th as a director. The 92-year-old most recently directed and starred in Cry Macho (2021), but has an extensive resume of award-winning flicks to his name, including Letters from Iwo Jima and Flags of our Fathers (2006), Million Dollar Baby (2004), American Sniper (2014), and Sully (2016).
Though the actor-turned-director is certainly a busy man, these days he also makes sure to enjoy his life, limiting his work commitments severely. His daughter Francesca Eastwood spoken recently on what an amazing grandfather Clint had turned out to be.
She posted pictures of the megastar with his grandson Titan, with the caption: “Best dad. Best grandfather.” People in the comments were quick to remark upon how similar the two of them looked.
Yet though Clint is undoubtedly enjoying the life he’s built through hard-work, dedication to his craft, and an undeniable overload of talent, the latest reports from Radar Online appear to suggest that there’s some cause for concern among his close friends and confidants.
“Clint goes through spells of talking about retirement, but what’s worse for him, he feels the movie industry has retired on him,” an insider is said to have told the news outlet.
“He’s had a 50-year partnership with Warner Brothers, but there are new people in charge there now and they were very disappointed Clint’s last movie Cry Macho bombed at the box office.
“He was happy to finally get a go-ahead from Warner for his new film, but he isn’t counting on it happening again.”
Eastwood, who will turn 93 later this month on May 31, is rumored to be keen on finishing retiring on a high note with the aforementioned Juror #2. Tying a neat bow on a stellar career would certainly be fitting for a man who has given so much to the industry over the decades, but there are those in his inner circle who fear he may be still be taking on too much.
“It’s still a lot for a guy in his nineties,” the source told Radar Online.
“People do worry about his health. He’s the director, but he’s also involved in every other aspect like the casting and he’ll likely compose the score as he’s done on his other films.”
What’s more, the Dirty Harry star reportedly hasn’t been seen in public in over 450 days, leading to unconfirmed speculation that his health has taken a turn for the worse.
I think we can all agree that Clint Eastwood is a stalwart of the entertainment industry, and a much-loved figure to boot.
Here’s to hoping he can close out his career with the same panache and vigor he’s exhibited since he first burst onto the scene.
