Madonna’s frightening condition at hospital comes to light – star was “kicking and screaming”
Further worrying reports are emerging concerning the hospitalization of legendary singer Madonna earlier this week.
Yesterday it was revealed that Madge had been rushed to the intensive care unit at a New York City hospital after being found unresponsive. It’s since been reported that the singer had contracted a serious bacterial infection.
The latest on Madonna’s condition is that she’s been deemed well enough to return home to continue her recovery, though a relative was quick to stress the gravity of her situation by insisting that her family feared for her life when she was first admitted to hospital.
According to the Daily Mirror, though, Madonna herself didn’t want to seek medical help, despite having been struggling for some time…
Thousands of fans the world over were left concerned for the health of Madonna yesterday when it emerged that she’d spent several days in ICU.
Such was the severity of the situation that a relative told how they hadn’t initially gone public with word of her health issue as they feared the worst.
“That is why it was kept a secret since Saturday. Everyone believed that we may lose her, and that has been the reality of the situation,” the relative adding that Madonna “believes that she is invincible” and “has been wearing herself thin over the past couple of months”.
Latest reports insist that Madonna has been given the all clear to return to her New York home, but the Daily Mirror say she remains bed-bound and that the infection is still taking its toll.
According to sources, Madonna had been battling low-grade fever for the past month, but was so focused on her upcoming tour that she decided against taking time off to rest and recuperate. Her Celebration Tour has now been verbally postponed, but those close to Madonna are said to be worried that she might attempt to push on with it anyway.
Indeed, the Queen of Pop was reportedly so affected by the idea of canceling or postponing her tour that she was afraid to seek medical care incase it placed her musical plans in jeopardy.
A source reportedly told TMZ that Madonna was “metaphorically kicking and screaming” after being rushed to the hospital and was “protesting the decision to send her there”.
After her admission to the ICU, the singer’s manager’s statement read:
“At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.
“We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.“
We’re all with you as you continue to make your recovery, Madonna, and we hope you can return to doing what you love soon.
