Alan Hamel, husband of the late Suzanne Somers, has shared how he experienced “very strange” happenings in the wake of her death, describing three things that were particularly weird.

Somers passed away on October 15, 2023 just one day shy of her 77th birthday. The Three’s Company star had been in a lengthy battle with cancer prior to her death, while her representatives revealed that her family had been by her side during her final moments, including Hamel and her son, Bruce.

According to reports, her loved ones had gathered to celebrate her birthday, and by all accounts Somers herself was looking forward to marking another milestone after living with cancer on and off for some 23 years (she was first diagnosed back in 2000).

Back in July, 2023 Somers revealed to Fox News that her breast cancer had returned, saying: “I have been living with cancer for decades now, using the best of alternative and conventional medicine to keep it at bay. Every time that little f***** pops up, I continue to bat it back.”

Addressing her most recent diagnosis, she added: “It’s a recurrence of my breast cancer. Like any cancer patient, when you get that dreaded, ‘It’s back,’ you get a pit in your stomach. Then I put on my battle gear and go to war. This is familiar battleground for me, and I’m very tough.”

Sadly, she lost her battle despite putting up an inspiring fight against the disease, though her widower husband Hamel is convinced that her spirit lives on.

Speaking of the period immediately following his wife’s death, Hamel, who was married to Somers for 46 years, told Page Six: “Three things happened the same day that were very strange.”

He described how “a hummingbird flew into our house and made the rounds in the kitchen and the living room and the dining room.”

Said hummingbird reportedly “hovered” in front of a framed picture of Hamel and Somers, with Hamel explaining that the bird “landed on top and stayed there.”

Hamel then said that the “the fireplace started all by itself”, before “some music came on by Suzanne’s favorite composer.”

The 87-year-old also said that of his late wife: “I feel her laying beside me.”

“I’m a believer now that there is an afterlife,” he went on. “I’m convinced of it. … I think there’s something we don’t understand. I think there’s a plane somewhere. … after we discard our bodies. We still have our soul. I think our soul is energy. The soul must go somewhere and do something.”
