Shannen Doherty shares another more intimate look at her battle with cancer: ‘This is what cancer can look like’

Shannen Doherty of Beverly Hills 90210 fame has once again shared “what cancer can look like.”

One week after posting a video on Instagram alongside an emotional caption revealing her breast cancer had spread to her brain, Doherty has once again let fans in on her heartbreaking cancer journey.

In the latest video, uploaded Wednesday afternoon, Doherty is sitting on a hospital bed and dressed for surgery. According to the caption the video was taken January 16, 2023.

“January 16, 2023. Surgery. I had a tumor in my head they wanted to remove and also biopsy,” she wrote on Instagram.

The 52-year-old speaks with a woman off-camera who appears to be checking her limbs and going over with her what to expect post-op.

Although Doherty looks calm as she speaks to the woman and asks questions, the actress said she wasn’t anything but.

“I am clearly trying to be brave but I am petrified,” Doherty wrote. “The fear was overwhelming to me. Scared of all possible bad outcomes, worried about leaving my mom and how that would impact her. Worried that I would come out of surgery not me anymore.”

Doherty was initially diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, and in 2017 she announced the cancer had gone into remission.

However in February 2020 she revealed not only had the cancer returned, but it was stage 4. Ever since being diagnosed with cancer she has regularly shared updates about her treatment.

The latest updates have been the most personal yet.
