Matt Roloff, the star of Little People, Big World, revealed that he’s “back in action” after experiencing huge complications during a routine hospital visit.

On May 22, the 61-year-old patriarch of the Roloff family shared that things didn’t go as planned when he went for his routine endoscopy.

The senior Roloff writes on his Instagram that he had a rough week “when things didn’t go as planned” and the doctor told his fianceé Caryn Chandler, that there were some medical complications. “Turns out i have some unexpected twists n turns leading down to the stomac(h). good news is …i didn’t need the computer chip and monitor installed! scary news is more work to be done. worst news is i had to take a few days off working and lay low..”

The National Institutes of Health explains that an upper endoscopy involves using a flexible tube with camera to scope the inside of the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum (upper part of the small intestine). The procedure is necessary to identify any abnormalities like acid reflux, stomach ulcers, celiac disease, and other digestive tract problems.

Not diving into the details of the “more work” that needs to be done, Roloff said, “Back in action today!”

Fans quickly offered support to the father of four and wished him the best.

One user writes, “Never a fun ride to the hospital to only stay there— You’ll fly through the next visit though, too! Keep well buddy!” Another cyber citizen asked for further information: “Hey Matt, I wanted to thank you for sharing this and keeping us up-to-date and posted what’s going on so you said you’re back in action today does that mean you’re all better? What exactly were you diagnosed with?”

And one netizen, referring to family squabbles, said, “Thoughts to your kids, always stressful when your parent has complications like this. Hopefully this will help mend some bridges and extend some olive branches.”

The user is referring to the feud between Matt and his son Zach that played out in season 22 of the TLC show Little People, Big World.

The elder Roloff blindsided his son, making it impossible for him to buy the family farm, frustrating fans, who were puzzled by his decisions that were shared on the show.

Responding to the slew of hatred, Matt wrote on his Instagram, along with a photo of Jacob, Isabel, and Zach’s son, “I caught up a bit on recent social media posts … it’s very apparent that people are frustrated and angrier then normal. I understand. But getting on the internet and being a mean person is no way to live your life.”

In an episode from season 23, Zach said he was looking forward to raising his three children on the farm, “…we want to be somewhere that we can see our family a long time and where we’re at right now is not that place.”

But it appears that little Josiah, Zach’s one-year-old son, bridged the divide between his dad and grandfather.

“What a whirlwind month. I can’t believe April is already over,” Matt writes on his Instagram, along with a photo of him and his son Jeremy. “Life is wonderful but always moving sooo fast. Today we celebrated Josia’s 1st birthday—- are you kidding me. Never mind April… where did the past year go??”

Still, fans of the show and the Roloff brood openly expressed their disappointment with Matt.

On May 11, celebrating the birthday of his twins, Matt posted an adorable throwback photo of his children–Zach and Jeremy (33), Molly (29), and Jacob (26)–playing in the famed Roloff Farm pumpkin patch.

“Happy Birthday to my Twin boys @jeremyroloff and @zroloff07 I bet you don’t remember your first mule ride off the farm down Groveland Road.” Matt continues in his post, “Zach having a ball. Jer thought he was driving in London (ie wrong side of the road). Happy birthday!!! Enjoy this trip down memory lane. I have so many fun clips to share.”

While the majority of fans replied with wishes and praise, others took the opportunity to slam the dad.

One writes, “So you make money off of your children in order to be on a show for the majority of their lives, cheat them out of their childhood dreams of staying on the farm, want them to pay a ridiculous price to even remain on the farm, cheat on your wife with an employee, build a new home with your new girlfriend on the farm and wanting to sell the home your kids grew up in. Solid dad lol.” One user, defending Matt, added to the post, “Mind your business. What goes on is between him and his family.” She adds, “Matt has done a lot of back breaking work and dedication on that farm before they had the show and whatever issues they had is none of your business.”

This update is not the best news for the Roloff family. But we are rooting for Matt Roloff and hope everything goes smoothly! Share this with other fans of the show so they can be up to date about all of this as well!
